And then the third problem thing I run into where people will say to me, so when somebody says to me, I'm not getting anyone knocking on my door, the first thing I say to them is, how are you connecting to new people? And if they say, tell me all the ways. And they're doing a lot of networking, they're meeting a lot of new people.

They're having a. Lots of one on ones. It's like, okay, great. The next thing I say is, how often are you talking about what you do? And if they're doing a great job connecting what the problem is, next is, well and truly that they are showing up and saying, Hi, I'm Sara, I'm a teacher, or Hi, I'm a coach, or Hi, I'm a whatever. And then they never make an invitation, because that feels funny to them, but what instead is actually happening is there are people that think they're amazing, that don't know what to do next to get things from them. Because there are people out in the world, it'll be like, Whoa, you're great. Tell me how to work with you. That happens. But those people are not in the majority, right?

Those are the people we meet that are sort of ahead of the curve in asking for what they need. But what our jobs as business owners are is to make it so that everybody, even the people that are not graded the research, that aren't sure what they want, that aren't going to ask very pointedly, can figure it out. So it's connecting to the new people talking about what you do, but then saying, Hey, I'm Sara, and I help people with this kind of thing.

If you know anybody that's in that boat, I'd love to meet them. Or, Hey, I'm Sara, have this face. Great Facebook group. I'd love if you'd be involved. Or, Hey, I'm Sara. I run something called offer hours. And here's when the next one is right. I'd love to have you join us if you're interested. And you didn't die for me saying that. I didn't die for me saying that. But there is a huge difference that is made in a business when we're actually saying, here's this specific thing I have, here's how you get it if you want it, right? It's like if a city bus imagine you were standing on a corner at a bus stop and a city bus came by, and you weren't sure which bus it was, because you want to go to a specific place, right? And the bus driver opens the door and you say, are you going to target? And the bus driver goes, I don't know. Are you going to get on the bus? No. Or if the bus driver just looks at you and is like, but my name is Joe. I'm a bus driver. You're like, Uh huh. What's happening here? Because he didn't give you the information about the destination that you needed.

If we are not inviting people into our work, we are not giving people the information about the destination they need. We're not enabling them to buy in our worry about bothering them, about it being too much, about it being too salesy, what we're doing instead is making it hard for them to say yes, when really what I want for everyone is for to be as easy as possible for people to say yes to you and what you sell. But they can't say yes if you don't tell them how, right? That's your job.

So for you, the one action to take here is to look around, and if you're networking a lot and you're meeting a lot of new people, and the door knocks are still not coming. It's like, Am I making it easy for them to say yes? Am I telling them how? Because possibly you're not, or you're not telling them directly enough, or you're telling them how to do seven things instead of one, right? It's like, how are we doing it? How are we making it really easy? So I wrote down this list today, very much, because these are all things that I have coached people on this week.

This is the work that I do as a business coach. We do mindset things we do, pricing things we do sales things this week, I've helped people write scripts for consults, even though they're not really scripts, it's outlines. I've helped people decide how to grow their businesses to double the size without doing double the work. I've helped a client a little while ago this morning, make really solid decisions about some steps she's taking in marketing that she'd been like, sitting on.

We did a bunch of deciding this morning and delegating and, like, actually wrote the emails I've had this week, clients sending me email templates that they're using to do outreach for me to just, you know, review with them, so that I can give them some different words if they need them. They weren't sure about things. This is the work of coaching in business.

Coaching the way I do it, we're in it together, so we will actively work on the thing that you need to work on in the moment you need to work on it, and also keep your strategic direction intact. Because my job as the coach is to say. Hey, but that's where we're trying to get to. Our destination is over there, even when you're not sure. So if I can be of help to you, I would love to coaching. Happens one on one. It happens in small groups twice a year. The next round will be in early 2025 and that will be on offer in December.

So start paying attention then or I run a course called selling for weirdos, and all of the problems, struggles that we talked about today are things that we directly address in selling for weirdos, because it is a three pronged approach, where it's about being grounded and knowing your value, being connected and knowing how you're meeting all the people and making invitations.

So in selling for weirdos, that's the core, and that's exactly what these issues today we were talking about are. So come join us in selling for weirdos, it's going to be amazing, because you're not going to be stuck in the same place next year that you are right now.
